Looking back on all of my pervious blog posts. I feel very sad that this learning experience is over. But I am also really proud of it and it is something that I can always look back on and remember all the projects I did. Things I realized about the way I learn is, I am much more motivated to work hard on something if a actually enjoy it. That is something that Andrew always talks about and I think it is totally true. Also by choosing the projects it gives you responsibility to go through with and mostly take care of it on your own. I am the type of person that will do the work no mater what it is or how much I suck at it or hate it. But it makes school a lot more enjoyable and rewarding to be doing something you actually want to learn about and the information that you gain will be something that you will remember for all your life. I also learned that I like to work with people that I know well. Maia and I often did labs together I think that is mainly because we had experience working together and knew that it always seems to pan out well. I probably should stepped out my comfort zone and worked with others more often.
Like I said before I was motivated more when I got to chose something that I truly enjoy. Science is just learning about deeper on a molecular level how it works. So whatever your interests are there seems to be a science topic that will interest you. Mine were a lot of photography, art, and astronomy. There is so much more projects that I would like to try because the opportunities are endless. At first I wasn't least motivated by writing the blogs but then I started realizing that even though they aren't the most fun part of the process they still are one of the most of the most important part of projects and this class. Because bloging is the way that we show our work and process the things we learn. Without them I would have not learned as much as I did. Once I realized how important blogs where I was more motivated to write them in detail.
There is so many take aways from this class. Too many to count there, is many facts that I learned about chemistry and science that I would have never known otherwise. Just gained manly by things that I had fun doing. Some of the big take aways where, finding my love for astronomy and astrophotography. How to mange my time better because things where so open and there wasn't many due dates. How to propose ideas and to feel more confident with asking questions or help from teachers or other students. How to write my ideas, process, science, and reflections and get them out in writing. Also learning how to document my work by taking pictures and notes along the way. I used to not think that I was a science person, but know I think I am and it interests me a lot more then it did before. I may even want to get a job in that area because of this smelter. Thank you so much Andrew you were a great teacher. I will miss you and all your stories, and your inspirational talks about using your time wisely, and chemistry. I had a great semester I had a lot of fun and learned a lot. Thank you!
Goodbye lovely blog :(
